Position Overview:
As an Accounts Payable Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the corporate mission by managing accounts payable functions for both corporate and store-level accounts. You will be responsible for verifying, recording, and accounting for expenses and payables, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare vouchers detailing essential invoice information, including invoice number, date, vendor address, item description, amounts, and appropriate coding according to accounting policies and procedures.
- Exercise meticulous control over expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.
- Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice and expense reports and accurately recording entries.
- Process invoices, verify financial data for maintaining accounts payable records, and provide exceptional customer support to meet organizational obligations.
- Collaborate with the Accounts Payable Manager on reconciliations, journal entries, credit card transactions, and daily pay cycles.
- Provide outstanding customer support and communication to Accounting, Operations, and business partners to resolve any discrepancies or inquiries.
- Participate in special projects as needed, including process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
