Job Description

The Manager, Training and Development is responsible for leading the training and development function and initiatives for the organization.   This includes job specific training, as well as soft skills and leadership training, for the entire organization.    
1.   Program and/or Project Management
  1. Create and manage to comprehensive and actionable project plans 
  2. Plan, schedule and track projects, maintaining aggressive deadlines
  3. Present recommendations and designs and report on project status
  4. Manage external and internal vendors in creating learning components
  5. Produce and direct training audio, video and multimedia
  6. Experience managing a learning management system

2.   Instructional design
  1. Design, develop, and deliver meaningful education through a variety of effective mediums, including e-learning and instructor-led training 
  2. Design solutions that are effective for the business environment and key stakeholders 
  3. Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment through effective collaboration
  4. Prioritize and execute against needs assessment 
  5. Evaluate effectiveness of training programs

3.  Facilitation
  1. Facilitate leadership and business-related topics in both large and intimate group settings
  2. Effectively facilitate in both virtual and in-person environments
  3. Actively engage participants to ensure interactive and meaningful sessions    
  4. Act as a consultant to requesting business areas, offering thoughts, ideas, and solutions that improve the organization
  5. Demonstrate the ability to, directly and indirectly, influence the organization, its priorities, and corresponding solutions
  6. Work in an autonomous fashion, taking full ownership and accountability for assigned projects, tasks, and deadlines
  7. Actively seek feedback on the quality and effectiveness of deliverables from key stakeholders

4.   Leadership
  1. Provide leadership and mentoring to the Training & Development team, continuing to leverage and build the knowledge, skills and abilities of the team
  2. Coordinate the design and execution of in-house training programs as well as the roll out of programs from UniSelect

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’ s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Adult Education, Business or related field
  1. 5+ years of successful training and/or development experience in a corporate setting
  2. 5+ years of successful program and/or project management experience in a corporate setting

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. 8+ years of successful cross-functional program management
  2. Master’ s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Business or related field
  3. Experience managing vendor relationships 
  4. Knowledge of multi-media teaching and learning methods
  5. Certification in DISC or similar
